It was announced this week that Green Day and Live Nation are teaming up to produce a new comedy is being developed by Lee Kirk alongside Green Day, titled ‘New Years Rev’. The casting all went out from Oklahoma’s Freihofer Casting, seeking “punks, emo, hardcore, alternative and rocker young adults, aged 18-30” for a multi-day shoot which will see them appearing “as attendees of a pop-up rock show” in an outdoor location. Applicants are being promised “live music, skateboarding and a rowdy good time,” with a $101.50 per diem promised. Including days spent shooting a “rain and mud fight” event, with extras offered a $25 bonus for getting wet and muddy. I may just have to hang up my headphones and try my luck on the big screen! Big news Scorpions fans, as the long awaited biopic, ‘Wind of Change’, is set to begin filming in May. According to the films production company, EXS Entertainment, “‘Wind Of Change’ will tell the story of “three unlikely friends whose passion for rock ‘n’ roll fueled their rise from the ashes of post-World War II Germany to the global stardom in the 1980s as the multi-platinum rock band SCORPIONS,” according to Deadline. French-born filmmaker Alex Ranarivelo (“American Wrestler: The Wizard”) will direct.” As for the hold up in production? I am not exactly sure how to feel about this, however Post Malone and Travis Barker (Blink 182) have announced a Nirvana cover album due out on vinyl for Record Store Day this April. The 14-track album will feature Travis Barker on drums, bassist Brian Lee, and guitarist Nick Mac. Iconic Nirvana tracks covered include “Come as You Are,” “Lounge Act,” “On a Plane” and “Heart-Shaped Box,” among others. Profits from the sales of this album will go to supporting MusiCares’ Addiction Recovery/Mental Health division.
