Update on new music from Queen

Rumors began to swirl earlier this year that Queen’s Brian May and Roger Taylor were working for the first time in years on new Queen music. Those rumors have gained some steam as May’s wife, Anita Dobson, may have let the cat out of the bag early. “Yes, I don’t know when or how, but they will. They’re musicians, they can’t stop,” Dobson stated in an interview published today when asked if there were plans for Queen on the horizon. “But I do know one thing about the boys. They may not be touring at the moment as Queen, but they will be doing something. There is lots of talk going on and Brian pops round to see Roger a lot… so there’s still life in the old dog yet.”  Make of it what you will, but I’m excited. Foo Fighters release brand new single ‘Today’s Song’

Foo Fighters set to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their self titled debut album on July 4th, and are treating fans to an early anniversary gift in the form of a brand new single. The first new music from Dave and company since 2023’s ‘But Here We Are’ hit all streaming platforms earlier this morning and this Foo fan is beyond excited. ‘Today’s Song’ features the front man returning to the drums and dives deep into self evolution and perseverance in a world where nothing is guaranteed.  Along with releasing ‘Today’s Song’, Dave Grohl also wrote the below note to fans:

“Over the years, we’ve had moments of unbridled joy, and moments of devastating heartbreak. Moments of beautiful victory, and moments of painful defeat. We have mended broken bones and broken hearts. But we have followed this road together, with each other, for each other, no matter what. Because in life, you just can’t go it alone….”

“It should go without saying that without the boundless energy of William Goldsmith, the seasoned wisdom of Franz Stahl, and the thunderous wizardry of Josh Freese, this story would be incomplete, so we extend our heartfelt gratitude for the time, music, and memories that we shared with each of them over the years. Thank you, gentlemen.”

“And… Taylor. Your name is spoken every day, sometimes with tears, sometimes with a smile, but you are still in everything we do, everywhere we go, forever. The enormity of your beautiful soul is only rivaled by the infinite longing we feel in your absence. We all miss you beyond words. FOO FIGHTERS will forever include Taylor Hawkins in every note that we play, until we do finally reach our destination.”
