This week in 80’s history!

Posted on November 25, 2023

Time to jump in the way back machine and see what Thanksgiving Week looked like in the 1980’s! It was on this week in:

1981 – For Those About to Rock We Salute You from AC/DC was released. The album would go on to hit #1 on the Billboard Charts and sell over 4 million copies world wide!

1987 – Planes, Trains and Automobiles, the greatest Thanksgiving Movie of all time Premiered in Theaters starring Steve Martin and John Candy.

1988 – The Thanksgiving night tradition, the 2nd Annual WWF Survivor Series Took Place at Richfield Coliseum in Ohio. The main event saw The Mega Powers (Hulk Hogan and WWF World Heavyweight Champion Randy Savage), Hercules, Koko B. Ware and Hillbilly Jim square off against The Twin Towers (Akeem and the Big Boss Man), Ted DiBiase, Haku and The Red Rooster.

1988 – My personal favorite take on the Charles Dickens classic Christmas Carol, Scrooged, starring Bill Murray Premiered in Theaters.
