This Week in 80’s History!

Posted on December 17, 2022

It’s time to take a look back at what this week in the 1980’s had to offer! It was on this week in:

1983 – The Iron Sheik would end one of the longest WWE Championship reigns of all time by defeating Bob Backlund, breaking his back and making him humble.

1988 – Rain Man starring Dustin Hoffman and Tom Cruise premiered in theaters. Despite Hoffman wanting to leave the set because he thought he was doing a terrible job, the movie would win an Academy Award for best picture and Hoffman would take home the Oscar for best actor that year.

1989 – The Simpsons premiered on Fox, and the rest…is television history!
