It’s time to take a look back at this week in 80’s history! It was on this week in:

1985 – Pete Rose Broke Ty Cobb’s All-Time hits record with 4,192. Rose would go on to finish his career with 4,256 hits and still not allowed into the baseball hall of fame.

1986 – The Oprah Winfrey Show Premiered, changing day time talk tv history and would run for 25 seasons and 4,561 episodes!

1988 – “Sweet Child o’ Mine” by Guns N’ Roses would become the #1 song in America, topping the Billboard charts and holding onto that spot for 3 weeks.

1989 – American Gladiators premiered giving average Joe’s the opportunity to live out their sports dreams if they could topple the muscle bound Gladiators that stood in their way.
