Posted on July 9, 2022

It’s time to take a look back at this week in 80’s history!

It was this week in:

1981 – “Stop Draggin My Heart Around” from Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers featuring Stevie Nicks was released. It would peak at #3 on the Billboard charts.

1982 – Tron was released in theaters. Tron is credited as the first movie to extensively feature computer animation…how far we have come.

1983 – “Every Breath You Take” by The Police hit #1 on the US Billboard charts and would go on to win Billboard’s Song of the Year for 83.

1986 – “Eat ‘Em and Smile” the solo debut from former Van Halen frontman David Lee Roth was released, it would reach #4 on the Billboard charts.
