As many fans are aware, the planned 50th anniversary tour Twisted Sister had planned nearly was over before it started. After front man Dee Snyder started to experience health issues, he ultimately was left with no choice but to pull out from the project leaving it’s future in limbo. Left “gobsmacked” after Dee sent an email to band members Eddie Ojeda and Jay Jay French, the band decided that the only suitable replacement would be non other than former Skid Row front man Sebastian Bach.
“When I called to ask if he was interested, Sebastian sounded like a kid on Christmas morning,” French stated in a recent interview. “Twisted Sister is larger-than-life, and we wanted a singer who is just the same.”
It didn’t take Bach very long to decide. “The answer, of course, was yes,” Bach stated enthusiastically. “I have been a huge fan of Twisted Sister since first seeing them with Queensrÿche at the Masonic Temple in Toronto in 1983. I wrote their logo on the back of my denim jacket. After a long phone conversation with Snyder, Bach was given Dee’s blessing to join Twisted Sister and rock the road!
“That was important to me,” Bach continues. “I have such a reverence for Dee, he wrote all of these great songs. I’m also very good friends with him. Twenty-five years ago Dee himself named me SMF #2 [Sick Muther Fucking Friends Of TS was the name of the band’s fan club]. Dee is SMF #1.”
