Long time guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne and founding member of Black Label Society, Zakk Wylde opened up about the bands recent tribute to the late Prince of Darkness. While working on the bands new album Engines of Demolition actually began in 2022, it wasn’t until after Ozzy’s passing that the lyrics for the appropriately titled ‘Ozzy’s Song’ came to be. In a recent interview Wylde shared that “….after we laid Ozzy [Osbourne] to rest and when we came back, winding down the Pantera celebration run, I came home, I just sat in the library in our house looking at a book of Ozzy.” Continuing Wylde stated “…I just sat and put the music on and wrote the lyrics right there. Obviously if Oz hadn’t passed away, I’m not writing those lyrics.” Get the full story here and check out ‘Ozzy’s Song’ below.
