It was on this week in: 1981 – The Go-Go’s Released Their Debut Album, Beauty and the Beat. The album would quickly climb to the top of the charts thanks to “Our Lips Are Sealed” 1981 – “Stop Draggin My Heart” Tom Petty featuring Stevie Nicks was released and would hit #3 on the Billboard charts. 1982 – Tron Was Released in Theaters. This cult classic was the first movie to exclusively use computer animation. 1984 – “When Doves Cry” by Prince Became the #1 Song in America. It would hold onto that spot for over a month, dominating the summer of 84.
