This week in 80’s history!

Posted on July 8, 2023

Let’s take a look in the way back machine to see what this day looked like in the 1980’s! It was on this week in:

1981 – The Go-Go’s Released Their Debut Album, Beauty and the Beat. The album would quickly climb to the top of the charts thanks to “Our Lips Are Sealed”

1981 – “Stop Draggin My Heart” Tom Petty featuring Stevie Nicks was released and would hit #3 on the Billboard charts.

1982 – Tron Was Released in Theaters. This cult classic was the first movie to exclusively use computer animation.

1984 – “When Doves Cry” by Prince Became the #1 Song in America. It would hold onto that spot for over a month, dominating the summer of 84.
